Privacy Policy — Parenting Solved

Effective date: 2026-09-05

Last updated: 2026-09-05

Parenting Solved ("we", "us") runs the YouTube channel

youtube.com/@ParentingSolved (https://www.youtube.com/@ParentingSolved) and offers free

downloadable guides for parents and caregivers of children who are missing school.

This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, why, and what we do

not do. If anything here is unclear, email

Parenting Solved

support@parentingsolved.org

https://parentingsolved.org and ask.

1. Who this service is for

This service is written for parents, carers and other adults. It is not directed at

children, and our videos are not designated as "made for kids". We do not knowingly

collect personal information directly from anyone under 13.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email

Parenting Solved

support@parentingsolved.org

https://parentingsolved.org and we will delete it.

2. What we collect when you request a free guide

Our free guides are delivered through Google Forms. Before the download, each form

asks a small number of questions. This is everything it asks:

What we ask | Required? | What it is

--- | --- | ---

One question about your situation | Yes | For example, what the school actually sent you, or where you are in the 504 process

"How old is your child?" | Yes | An age range only: Under 5, 5 to 7, 8 to 11, 12 to 14, or 15 or older

"What has actually happened so far?" | No | Tick-boxes covering absence letters, a truancy notice, a scheduled hearing, contact from CPS or child welfare, an existing 504 plan or IEP, or a doctor or therapist being involved

Email address | No | Optional. Leave it blank and you still get the download

We never ask for your child's name, date of birth, school, address, or any document

about them. The age question captures a range, nothing more.

About the optional tick-box question

Some of those options reveal sensitive circumstances: contact from child welfare, a

disability plan, or a clinician being involved. We ask because the guides differ

depending on where you are in the process, and because it tells us which guides are

worth making next.

That question is optional. You can skip every box and still get the download. If you

would rather not tell us, don't.

About your email address

The email field is optional, and the form says so. If you give it to us we use it to

send you the guide and occasional related material. We do not sell, rent, or share

your email address with anyone. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing

Parenting Solved

support@parentingsolved.org

https://parentingsolved.org.

3. What we collect when you watch on YouTube

When you watch our videos, we do not receive your personal information. YouTube is

operated by Google, and your viewing is governed by

Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

What we can see is:

- Aggregate statistics from YouTube Analytics: total views, watch time, traffic

sources, and broad audience categories. These are group-level numbers. They do not

identify you.

- Public comments. If you comment on a video, your comment and your YouTube display

name are public, posted by you, on Google's platform, visible to everyone. Please do

not put your child's name, your school's name, or medical details in a public comment.

We may reply publicly or, where a comment breaks YouTube's rules, remove it.

4. Links in our video descriptions

Our video descriptions use Bitly short links so we can see how many people clicked.

Bitly records click data such as IP address, referring page, and device type, under

Bitly's Privacy Policy (https://bitly.com/pages/privacy). We see click counts, not your

identity.

5. Third parties that process data for us

We are a small operation and use standard providers rather than our own servers:

Provider | What it handles | Their policy

--- | --- | ---

Google (Forms, Drive, YouTube) | Hosts the forms, stores responses, hosts the videos | policies.google.com/privacy (https://policies.google.com/privacy)

Bitly | Short links in video descriptions | bitly.com/pages/privacy (https://bitly.com/pages/privacy)

Form responses are stored inside our own Google account and are accessible only to us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers. We do

not run advertising or retargeting trackers of our own.

6. Our software's access to Google accounts

We operate an internal application registered with Google (named

parenting-solved-forms) that publishes and manages videos on our own channel. It uses

Google's YouTube APIs to upload videos, add chapters, and post comments as the channel.

This application only ever accesses our own Google account. It never requests access

to a viewer's or subscriber's Google account, and it cannot read your Google data.

7. How long we keep things

- Form responses (including any email address): kept while we continue to offer the

guide, and reviewed at least once a year. Anything no longer needed is deleted.

- Aggregate YouTube statistics: retained by Google under their own retention rules.

- On request: we delete your data promptly when you ask.

8. Your rights

Whoever and wherever you are, you can email

Parenting Solved

support@parentingsolved.org

https://parentingsolved.org and ask us

to:

- tell you what we hold about you,

- correct it,

- delete it.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you additionally have rights

under the UK GDPR and GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction,

portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your national data protection

authority. Where we rely on consent, for example an email address you chose to give us,

you may withdraw it at any time.

If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA and CPRA to know, delete,

and correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal

information as those terms are defined, so there is nothing to opt out of.

9. Security

Data sits inside our Google account, protected by Google's infrastructure and by

two-factor authentication on our side. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not

pretend otherwise. We hold as little as possible, which is the strongest protection we

can offer you.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes

will be noted on this page.
